It's been dark and gloomy again the past few days, so I have started planning my garden for this year. It's a bit early, but at least one of the plants I want to grow is not going to be easy to find.
Most of the plants I grow are edible, either for me or for my bunny. Often both, my bunny and I like much the same kind of food. Which is amusing, since my parents and older brother often mocked me for my strange food choices by calling everything I ate "rabbit food" (meaning that they felt what I ate was unfit for human consumption, when in fact rabbits tend to be more fussy about food than humans. If it is even a tiny bit wilted, the bunny won't touch it whereas most humans would eat it and not even notice.)
Anyways, here is what I wish to grow this year, at least some of them:
| Giant Italian parsley |
| Cucumber |
| Chard |
| Broccoli |
| Basil |
| Leeks |
| Ozette Potato |
| Carrots |
(Not my pictures, by the way, just found online. I'll try to remember to take pictures of the garden this year, I completely forgot to last year.)
I really like growing my own food. I am not at all good at growing plants, I never have been. Most plants under my care do not survive. I think it is super-awesome that a plant can grow from a seed. I know scientifically how it works, but it still is a little miracle to me every time a plant sprouts from a seed. It is so exciting to grow plants.
